To Backup or Not To Backup?

Silly question, right? You must backup! But what, when, where, and how?

The easiest way to backup is to a ‘local’ external hard drive. Most now have easy and automatic backup software that most novices can setup effectively. The one I recommend is the Seagate Free Agent mobile external hard drive. It plugs right into the USB and no need to plug into a power outlet.

Online backup or ‘remote’ backup is the best way to backup. Carbonite.com offers a cheap and super user-friendly way to backup all your important data. It cost around $59/year as of this writing and you can access your files from other computers through your Carbonite.com account.
