Computer Not Booting Up
The instructions look so simple, right? Just insert your Windows Setup disc and select ‘r’ and your computer will repair itself!
If only it were that easy. This is one of the most common issues I come across. What happens is the Windows registry becomes corrupt usually for one of two of reasons.
1. Power loss. Computer loses power for whatever reason while system files are open.
2. Failed update. Some Windows Updates make major changes to system files. If this process fails the registry can become corrupt.
Don’t Reload Your Computer Yet!
Luckily, this issue can be easily repaired in most instances without reloading the entire Operating System. However, if the registry is actually damaged or a registry hive is deleted there is no other choice, but to reinstall the Operating System and all programs. This is a last resort in any repair situation.
Blue Screen Errors
The dreaded BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) is not usually an indicator of your PC’s demise. Blue screens can be caused by software problems, system file corruption, failing drivers and possibly failing RAM (computer memory).
